Introduction to classical Tibetian Language February 14- March 11 ,2011

by Prof.Kurt Schwabe

I thoroughly enjoyed it as I think Kurt’s teaching method was very good. He focused on the writing system, pronunciation and grammar as said on the website. He took time and made sure we understood. I think beginners should just focus on one or two areas like the way Kurt taught. We’re not forced to remember everything since we will know them along the way.
I learnt a little bit of Tibetan before but got frustrated as I didn’t have the time to practise because of work and other distractions. While attending this course at Deer Park, I had time and chance to practise every day right after attending the lessons which really helped.
I will come back to Deer Park to attend a similar course if the weather is not as cold as while I was there and if I have enough annual leave. The environment at Deer Park is very nice and everyone (staff and volunteers) there is so friendly which make one wants to go back.
I’m grateful to Kurt and everyone at Deer Park. I will definitely continue practise what I’ve learnt from Kurt.
