Avastha Vinyasa February 28 - March 2, 2011

Attending Dr. Robert Svoboda's, in Deer Park, was simply a gift.

During the course, I realized that Dr. Svoboda is a very learned man in Sanskriti, knowledge of India and that Vinyasa does not only mean to align your body during your asana practice. In a nutshell, his teaching was about life and how to use its fire wisely, in order to walk through the spiritual path of transformation from the gross to the subtle without burning or freezing. He ordered every teaching in such a way that he created time to talked about science, linguistics, technology, precious human life, tantra, sukha, dukha, deities, astrology, cosmic history of mind, life and well being.

I feel very grateful to Deer Park for having created such a wonderful learning experience for all of us. I think I learned some skills to recognize my present condition and act accordingly. Its hard to find more words to describe this experience, specially after been blown away by the energy of Dr. Svoboda's well meant and naturally ordered words.

Of course, this was all possible thanks to facilities like the teaching hall, all budget accommodation/toilet/showers and beautiful gompa welcoming retreatants/scholars/artists or just passing byers. But specially, thanks to Deer Park staff who are amazing. They took care of everything, very warm and nice people, truly receptive of other cultures. Every meal we were happy to discover that people sitting around the table, or the fireplace, were all from different nationalities. All these circumstances together make it so easy to soak up the atmosphere of Sarasvati, goddess of wisdom, and create a new situation: having a hard time to say good bye and arising a new wish...to come back soon :)
