From October 4-14th, Nepalese Buddhist teacher Narayan Prasad Rijal made his first visit to Deer Park , on the invitation of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche. For 8 days, Narayanji taught the entire essential Buddhist path and view with great clarity, constantly quoting from Buddhist sutras and Vedic texts to distinguish the subtle language and conceptual differences of view between Buddhism and Hinduism.
Participants were moved by Narayanji’s humble manner and the depth of his knowledge and experience. We all appreciated this opportunity to deepen our understanding of the Buddhist path and to clarify any confusion concerning the views of both Buddhism and Hindusim. In addition, we also learned many Sanskrit terms and were able to chant the profound prayer of Samantabhadra in Sanskrit with a melodic tune. We look forward to Narayanji’s next visit to Deer Park .
