Carpe Diem Students’ Group visit to Deer Park, November, 13-19, 2010

From November 13th to 19 th, 2010, Deer Park hosted a group of students from the US to spend 6 days under a program of Introduction to Buddhism and Meditation. The Carpe Diem Education group has been coming to Deer Park for the past 3 years to study Buddhism.
Melitis Kwong led the Dharma talks and discussion on Buddhism and the students attended part of Ven. Sudhammacara’s silence retreat. Students also visited Dzongsar Institute and Sherab Ling monastery and had a full day outing at a hot spring nearby.
Students thoroughly enjoyed their stay at Deer Park and left some positive remarks to express their appreciation.

Remarks from Students:

“It’s been so refreshing to spend time here and have such a warm welcome to Deer Park. I will always remember this place. Thank you.”
Nelle Edge

‘I’m so grateful for the way Melitis explained such complex topics related to Buddhism and facilitated meditations that turned out to be deeper than may be anything external I had experienced. I’m also grateful for the way she oversaw our experience at Deer Park and made sure we were well taken care of. I’m going to be taking a lot from this experience.”
Mindfully yours, Andrea
