Art Retreat on the five elements

Comments from participants in Deer Park’s Art retreat Workshop

The recent art retreat held at Deer Park was a fantastic event and space for creativity for all who attended. Poet Andrew Schelling and artist Marlow Brooks from Naropa University worked as a remarkable duo to enable a workshop on the theme of the five elements – wood, metal, fire, earth and water. Their passion and enthusiasm for the subject shone through as they lead workshops, teachings and lectures. The retreat cumulated in a performance with the poets reading their work aloud against a backdrop of calligraphic art. Sign me up for next year!

"It was my first art retreat. Through this art retreat, I discover the 5 elements and get a craving for learnig it more. I was supposed to stay in Bir for one week but stayed here for more than one month instead. This is such a beautiful place and from participating in the art retreat, I found it hard to leave. I will really miss this place.

I want to thank Deer Park Institute for organizing such a wonderful course."
